Bodywork

Jon Burras - the guy who opened my worldview to the body's myofascial system.  He helped me see how the body is not mechanic, but organic - and any mechanical approach to heal it would be lacking.  I will always remember and treasure the day I met him for class in Los Angeles.  I thank him for being part of my yoga education. Jon's teaching has sent me down a much greater road.  I've reposted a number of his articles on this website.

Integral Bodywork  - the central website for Integral Bodywork™.  This is very powerful work and I give thanks to its lineage of Ida Rolf, Dub Leigh, and Everett Ogawa (who trained me in 2004) each time I participate in a session of work.  This work has helped me in ways that go far beyond what can be written on a website.

MokSana Studio - Sonya Barton's studio near Third Street and East Washington Avenue in Madison.  Sonya is the wonderful lady who introduced me to Integral Bodywork, took me through my first 10 sessions, and under her wing later on to share tricks of the trade.  Thank You Sonya.  Without you, I would literally be in completely different shape today!  Check out MokSana's line up of Yoga, martial arts, and of course - Integral Bodywork™.

Yoga

Bikram Yoga Madison - the yoga studio where I do most of my teaching is located near Hilldale (Midvale Blvd & University Ave).  Stop in and take a class.  The hot room literally warms up the muscles & fascia and allows you to stretch it like taffy.  The hot style of yoga we do there is ideal for beginners and is especially powerful for detoxification and revitalization.

Shri Yoga Madison - another kula I am involved with.  The headquarters of Anusara Yoga in Madison Wisconsin!  Anusara Yoga is the creation of John Friend.  It is catching on fast as a well organized and dynamic hatha yoga system that cures the body from the heart.

Integral

Integral Naked - is at the cutting edge of primordial awareness!  You can check it out for a month for free.  First you might want to check out the work of writer / philosopher Ken Wilber.  Good 'starter' books are "The Marriage of Sense and Soul" (Random House) or "A Theory of Everything" (Shambala).  If you can, find them at a local bookseller.

Locales

Paras  Chiropractic - in Middleton.  If you need a chriopractor, Kaaren is a great one!  Other services (which do not include me) are:  massage, accupuncture, cold laser therapy, detox foot baths, and natural supplements.

Other Personal Endeavors

Downbeat Dance - is our website for the dance classes I teach with my lovely girlfriend Catherine.  We specialize in traditional (1900-1950) forms of African American partner dances such as swing, blues, lindy hop, and vernacular jazz dancing.  We also do instruction, special DJing, and dances for weddings and private parties.  If you're looking to learn and have a little fun, check us out!
